27, 2006 Rave Reviews for I Release! Create the
Life That Makes Your Heart Sing Since our book was published we have been receiving emails from around the world with people sharing their stories about how Releasing has impacted their lives. It was a challenge for us throughout the writing process to find the words that convey a deeply experiential process. However, the feedback we are receiving is phenomenal. People who never heard of Releasing are experiencing powerful results from reading the book and doing the processes. We're thrilled that it is doing exactly what we wanted it to do. We feel blessed that this little book is spreading the healing of Releasing around the world. We just received our first review which was published in the International spiritual magazine; The Viha Connection. We're happy to share it with you: A
Workbook That Works Yeah, right. Like it's that easy. I've done groups for years and I still get hookedoops, wait a minute. That's the title of Chapter 9: "Hindrance #2: Complaints, Excuses, Stories, and Dramas about How It Doesn't Work for You Because You're Special." Voge and Hugh Smith have made a workbook that actually works. In 1991 they trained with a couple [the Lindwalls] that developed The Releasing Process. They added their insights from years of sannyasin groups and Voge's clairvoyance, and started giving workshops to help people release their inner programs. Now they've written it all down in a clear, readable form so even people who haven't met them personally can use the process to heal. The first section of the book discusses The Releasing Process in general terms, with stories from Voge's and Hugh's own experience, and clients' stories. The second part, The Workbook, is experiential. "The exercises are designed to elicit memories, feelings, and reactions, bringing to the surface your awareness of whatever needs to be released. A willingness to risk and even be a little foolish is encouraged." Guided meditations along with the exercises help you feel and see clearly, then the book guides you through The Releasing Process. These statements are deceptively simple distillations of thousands of groups and sessions. Usually the parts of me that I've been hiding desperately want to be seen, and a couple of them came out and danced just now when they found themselves put into words. I've noticed that
many self-help books sound great on the first reading, and then stay
on the shelf. This one keeps me interested: the clients' stories are
entertaining, Voge and Hugh are clearly writing from their own experience
with a great deal of humor, and the statements are precise and powerful.
If you have a bit of courage, and don't mind being a little foolish,
these folks can help you look at whatever is keeping your heart from
singing-and let it go!
